Darren Scott Young, a former inspector with B.C.’s Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch has been charged for accepting bribes and breach of trust.

The documents state that Mr. Young is facing more than 30 charges. His Charges are accepting “benefits” in amounts ranging from $693 and $1,390 in addition he issued 14 fraudulent racing division licenses to 14 people. Some of these licenses were issued to people who have recently been arrested by the Canada Border Services Agency for working without a proper immigration permit.

That’s not all Darren has be charged under the Immigration Act for 15 counts of aiding or abetting foreigners  for employment without authorization.

Darren Scott Young will appear in Vancouver Provincial court on May 26 before the Vancouver provincial court. These accusations were brought to life by an investigation in 2019 of certain activities by trainers and workers at the city’s Hasting Racecourse.  

Nothing has been proven in court, so we will await the final verdict to cast any judgement against Mr. Young.
